Marulien Consulting, with its registered office in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as mentioned in this privacy statement.
Data we may process
Marulien Consulting processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you have provided it to us.
- When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
- If you use the contact form on this website we also collect your name and e-mail address and other information you may provide us in your message.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Marulien Consulting does NOT process any special personal data. Special personal data concerns sensitive data, for example about your health or a criminal record, ethnical data or data concerning race. Marulien Consulting does not process special personal data.
Why we need your data and how we use it
As soon as you have entered into an agreement with Marulien Consulting, we want to be of service to you in the best possible way. We will therefore use your data for the following objectives:
- To call or e-mail you if the performance of our services requires it.
- To inform you about changes in our services and products.
- In order to deliver products and services to you.
- If we are legally obliged thereto, like data we need for our tax declaration.
- Data can also be used for promotional or marketing purposes that relate to the type of services provision by Marulien Consulting. For example, in order to inform you through our newsletter about a new activity of Marulien Consulting. If you do not want to receive our newsletter, you can click on the button ‘Unsubscribe’ at the end of the newsletter.
We can solely use your data for any other objective than originally intended, if both objectives are closely related.
Marulien Consulting does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it when absolutely necessary to perform our agreement with you or if it complies with a legal obligation. We enter into agreements with processing agents to ensure a similar level of security and confidentiality of your data. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Which rules apply to the processing of personal data?
In the processing of personal data, Marulien Consulting is bound by applicable laws and legislation and keeps up to date with relevant developments. In this meaning Marulien Consulting retains the right to change the privacy statement in order to link the text to the latest state of affairs, as mentioned at the end of the privacy statement.
Marulien Consulting will save your data no longer than strictly necessary and in order to put into practice the objectives for which your data was collected. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
When you request a viewing, correction, placement or deletion of your personal data, Marulien Consulting will inform you within five days. You can submit this request through an e-mail to contact@marulien.com. Be sure to add “GDPR request” in your e-mail subject.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
Marulien Consulting only uses technical and functional cookies. A cookie is a tiny text file that is saved on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit our websites for the first time. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical processing of the websites and for your ease of use. They ensure that the websites function properly and remember your configuration preferences. You are able to deregister cookies by configuring your internet browser in such a way that cookies are no longer saved. In addition, you can delete all information that was earlier saved by changing your browser settings.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
